Logitech G930 – A Treat For Passionate Gamers
If you love gaming and you don’t have the Logitech G930 headset yet, you’re missing out! Us gamers need to realize that if we have the opportunity of improving our gaming experience with new accessories, we must seize it! Gaming keyboards, mice, and headsets are a must have for anyone who is at least a little bit interested in being a better gamer.
The guys at Logitech keep coming up with new stuff made just for gaming, and we do appreciate it. The latest thing they released is this great gaming headset, and it shows a lot
of improvement compared to headsets from other brands, or even with previous Logitech gaming headsets.

It’s a great thing to know you have an edge over your opponents in a game, be it big or small. Some people use real cheats to gain the advantage, but many others, like me, are not like that.
Me, I hate to cheat even when I play a game in single player mode. It’s just not that fulfilling to enter “god mode” and kill every enemy with one pistol shot, and never get killed. If you buy the Logitech G930 you could almost be seen as a cheater, if using this device weren’t perfectly legal and moral that is…
One of the things that I hate about conventional headphones is the lack of freedom you have. If you’re in an instance and you are voice chatting with your raid members, what happens if you want to go to the kitchen and get a cup of coffee? You can’t participate in the discussion and you can’t hear what they are saying. You always have to excuse yourself: “3 min coffee brb”. Well, now we are free to do anything we want, and still stay connected to the action.
Why the Logitech G930?
The most important innovation is that it’s a wireless headset, and it has a range of about 40 ft, so you can move anywhere around the house and still be able to discuss the strategy for the next boss (I’m sorry if I use too many World of Warcraft references here).
- there is absolutely no lag thanks to the 2.4 GHz wireless connection
- almost instant connection (less than one second)
- nifty 7.1 surround sound system. What does that mean? It means you easily hear your enemies’ footsteps and any other noises like gun reloading or picking up items, AND you can easily locate the source of the noise. If you know exactly where your enemy is, the battle is half won in some games. The 7.1 sound system is the best there is for the time being. Just try and feel the difference between a 5.1 and the 7.1. It’s huge!
- like the “previously best” Logitech headset, the G930 has three programmable buttons or G-keys you can use to further improve your gaming and, why not, general experience. Options include voice morphing and toggling chat clients, which is pretty cool
- the microphone is also very interesting, as it has a well made background noise reduction system in order to improve chat quality. You can bend the microphone to any position and when you want to mute it you just flip it upwards. So instead of clicking the “mute mic” button on your voice chat software, you just put your microphone up. There is also a button for muting the mic without changing its position, just aside the volume button
- some headphones will make the tops of your ears hurt after long usage, but the Logitech G930 design doesn’t allow that.
- it’s got about 10 hours of battery life, but the great thing is that you can charge it WHILE still being able to use it, so it seems they got that potential problem covered, too
- it has its own sound card that bypasses your system, for an enhanced audio experience

The PROS:
- you can almost say you’re cheating when you use the advantages of the wireless connection and the 7.1 surround system
- three programmable G-keys for enhanced use
- maneuverable microphone with white noise reduction
- you can use it even while recharging
The CONS:
- semi-expensive: you can buy other gaming headsets for less money, if you want to settle for less features. However, you can find it cheapest through Amazon here
- you can listen to music from the very beginning, but you need to install the software to use for games
What people are saying about the Logitech G930 gaming headset:
R.Goan “AntiHick writes:
[..]Very ergonomic. My head is pretty large, and sure, these headphones do squeeze somewhat tighter than what you were previously used to, yet the reason is that the headband is not low-cost plastic, but real metal. You’ll appreciate it later, because you’ll associate this squeeze with the word “quality”. It just needs a little getting used to. You’ll hardly even notice this after a while of usage.
The quality of the sound is awesome. I am still tweaking the headset for the optimum sound quality for the game I like most, TF2. And if you watch movies or tv or you listen to movies, you’ll see that the sound is crystal clear.[..]

Patrick Odeon writes:
[..]I would absolutely recommend it for gamers, as gaming is where the Logitech G930 shines, thanks to the full 7.1 sound system and microphone. However, this doesn’t begin and end with gaming. For the people who do not have the latest audio setup, this is a great buy, as it costs you less than it would if you buy a new sound card and speakers. This is a reality for many people like me who can’t boost the speakers too loud when we please, because we disturb the others who live with us.[...]
